Hilary Watson’s career in the equestrian world spans over 25 years and reflects a lifetime of dedication to the horse. Her journey began humbly—leading carriage tours and soaking up every hands-on opportunity. From there, she advanced to working with elite hunter/jumper programs and spent seasons immersed in the competitive circuits of Wellington, Ocala, and New York. Time spent abroad in Europe further deepened her appreciation for diverse training philosophies and the art of horsemanship.

Hilary’s training approach is rooted in patience, respect, and classical foundations. She earned her USHJA Trainer Certification in 2018, marking a significant milestone in her professional path. In 2014, she launched 214Saddles, pairing her understanding of equine anatomy with specialized training from the Master Saddlers Association to help clients achieve optimal saddle fit and comfort.

Her scope of work is broad: from nurturing first-time riders to refining the performance of young show horses, Hilary is both a mentor and a problem-solver. She’s spent the past decade working closely with warmblood breeders to start young horses under saddle, always honoring the importance of timing, trust, and never skipping steps.

Whether guiding a horse through its first jump course or educating a rider on biomechanics, Hilary brings clarity, calm, and purpose to every ride. Her goal is simple: create confident, willing partners—and support them every step of the way.
